Additionally, take into consideration the performance that is required in order to meet your requirements.

A high-resolution cameras should be considered where greater detail of the location is required. E.g. Color 460 TVL, Monochrome 570 TVL. Choosing a more sensitive camera will improve reproduction in poorly lit areas. The sensitivity of a camera is indicated by the minimum amount of light in order for the camera to produce a usable picture. E.g. Color 1.0 Lux at F1.2.

A conventional camera produces a pale backdrop when an object is shot against a bright background. BLC (Back Light Compensation) will counter strong light sources retaining picture quality.

Concentrated light sources directed towards the camera (e.g. car head lamps) can be inverted by an optional peak white inverter or an eclipser function. This has the effect of bringing detail to the location and making the object clear, that would otherwise produce a very grainy picture.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Manual or Auto Iris Lens?” style=”round_outline”]The iris (very similar to your own iris) is the part of the lens that determines how much light falls upon the camera CCD sensor.

The Manual Iris lens has this fixed at the time of installation. As the light levels change in the scene, the lens can do nothing to prevent either too little or too much light entering the camera. Virtually all cameras employ an Automatic Electronic Shutter to compensate for these variations when fitted with an MI lens. However they are only able to cope with a relatively small change in light levels. This selection type would be best suited for an enclosed area that operates 24/7/365 such as indoor warehouse settings where the light source is constant meaning the lights are on 24 hours a day with NO interruption.

Simple put: Manual Iris lens cameras should never be used in an outdoor application, as the camera will not be able adapt/focus/produce quality video with the with large changes in light levels throughout the day.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”My camera under the daylight or a constant light source, sometimes the color of the image becomes bad. Why?” style=”round_outline”]There is an auto shutter in the camera, based on the frequency of this shutter this will have direct impact on the light in the camera’s working environment. If the light “source” is strong, the shutter frequency will be high, which help to reduce the exposure. Contrary, if the light is weak, the shutter frequency will be low, which allows more lights to come into the CCD to make the image clear.

The shutter frequency has direct relation to the light source strength. Therefore, when the frequency of the light source matches that of the shutter well, the image will be normal. Otherwise, the color of the image will become intermitted.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”PTZ Cameras (Pan Tilt and Zoom Cameras, Also known as Speed Domes)” style=”round_outline”]Pan Tilt and Zoom cameras (PTZ) are cameras which can rotate 360 degrees, zoom in and
out and move up and down. The IP cameras are easily integrated into larger, complex systems, but can also function as stand-alone solutions in entry-level surveillance applications. IP cameras can be used for surveillance of sensitive areas, such as buildings, casinos, banks, fuel areas, secured warehouses, etc.,etc.. Video of those areas can be monitored from control rooms, at police stations which can be as little as 1 meter away or 1000 miles away.

In recent years Police Departments and Private Security are installing IP cameras in public venue thereby allowing those areas to be monitored live. IP cameras can be used in addition to compliment access control to remote areas. People as well as vehicles can be recorded with live date and time stamps that are easy to locate and review at a letter time.

IP cameras are easily connected to existing IP network(s) and enable real-time updates of high-quality video to be accessible from any computer on the network. Sensitive areas such as the server room, the reception area or any remote site can be closely monitored in a cost-effective and simple way, over the local network or via the internet.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Why is it so important to have DDNS support in IP camera?” style=”round_outline”]If an IP camera can support DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server), users can set the IP camera at a virtual domain name (such as: cam1.warehouse.cityname.xxx.xxx) at dynamic IP, and be able to view this IP camera anywhere that has access to the internet.

Some IP camera manufacturers claim to provide DDNS and this should be identified prior to purchasing the cameras. There are software solutions that need to be installed on the PC that will be controlling the cameras. Therefore, it requires users to see those IP cameras at the PCs that have installed the specific AP from manufacturers.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What is Auto Gain Control (AGC)?” style=”round_outline”]Auto Gain Control (AGC) will adjust the sensitivity of CCD pick-up elements automatically based on the light condition. When the light condition is normal, the sensitivity is also normal. “AGC” option means the sensitivity is normal; “MAX” option means the sensitivity of AGC goes to the maximum.
